The workshop is designed for:
a) individuals whose duties involve planning and managing information work, workforce, and / or providing information services to stakeholders.
b) heads of library / information department in universities / colleges / research institutes interested in enhancing knowledge and skills in strategic planning and strategy implementation in order to lead the organisation to greater heights.
Upon completion of the workshop participants should able to:
Participants will take home new contacts, ideas, and experiences that can turn out to be useful for their present and future career.
The workshop applies ‘action learning’ approach and is tailored to suit the environments and intention of participants who will benefit from discussions, group exercises, and brainstorming sessions.

Individual consultation on a strategic transformation plan for a specific organisation
PROGRAMME Day 3 is for individual participants wanting to design a strategic plan for their specific organisation. One whole day will be devoted to one organisation.
PROGRAMME Day 4 is also for individual participants wanting to design a strategic plan for their specific organisation. One whole day will be devoted to it.
Please register with the organiser of the workshop if you wish to continue for Day 3 or Day 4.
In order that you take home a workable plan for your organisation, you need to bring the organisation chart and the description of its function and relationship with the parent organisation, and other related data some of which are covered in the two-day programme.
Professor Dr Szarina Abdullah has been involved in various strategic management programs in UiTM during her tenure as former Head, School of Library & Information Science, Assistant Vice-Chancellor, and Dean of Centre for Graduate Studies, UiTM. She has conducted similar Strategic Management workshops for librarians at UNIMAS, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and for Directors of National Libraries from Developing Countries under the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program organised by the National Library of Malaysia. She is currently leading a team of researchers in conducting the National Bibliometrics Study in Science and Technology Knowledge Productivity for the Malaysian Science & Technology Information Centre, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Malaysia.
