Introduction

AACR2R chapter 10 covers all kinds of three-dimensional items (except those covered by other chapters such as globes and relief maps, which are cartographic materials).  Includes but is not limited to: naturally occurring objects, machines, stitchery, clothing, sculpture, puppets, models, games, toys, rubber stamps, stencils, jewellery, pottery, musical instruments, etc.  These are informational resources that maybe available in your library/information centres.  To provide efficient access to these resources, they should be catalogue to provide standardization in the creation of catalogue records using the same international standards as other library resources. This three-day workshop will enhance participants knowledge and skill in cataloguing these resources using AACR2R description and also mapping to the new cataloguing standard RDA (Resource Description and Access).  MARC21 is the platform for the creation of computerized catalogue records for your database.
